Blue Desert

Morning Sketch

Mary of the Blue lights Concept art.org

So when I first came across this challenge I was so into the theme I started painting with out research, without focus, and without a goal. So sitting looking at my original on Sunday afternoon I decided I wasn't going to fix it. And spend the rest of my time trying to make a bad composition work, and a boring character look interesting. So I decided, I m just going to start again.

I think this out worked out a lot better. One sitting 6 hours got to love it.

here is the link

Panthro & future sketch

Quick thundercat sketch
and a quick sketch I started the other day and finished just now.

The Watchmen

Went to see the Watchmen yesterday with some people from work. I liked the movie, I wasn't incredibly familiar with source material. I though it was fun and a dark super hero movie. Nice to look at and entertaining. we did a speed paint session here subject; super heros. So I did a modern/emo/ teenage, version of Rorshach.

She's got a knife

look out she's got a knife, and she looks slightly disgruntled.

KillZone 2

Kill zone pronounced (Kil-zo-Ne) wich sounds like a Calzone which is delicious.

castel in the red sky

Red sky sketch.

Girl, gun

We did a 20 minute quick painting on Friday. the subject was guns and girls. Now this is not a 20 minute painting, it's more like a hour and a half. I liked the subject and a take slightly different then BIG GUNS BIG BOOBS. Not that any of us at work did that. Okey I'm going on about nothing now. basically I had fun trying to make this a real world person, fashion and pose.
Thanks for looking.

update: I came across the initial sketch a couple of weeks after the initial post. I think I like the original more. The top is perhaps a little over worked. I tried to flatten the colours to make it more realistic, I think though, the initial sketch was plenty realistic.

Perun final.

Here is the final image for the CG challenge for steam punk myths and legends. It was fun and they gave us a week extension which was a huge relief. Here is the link to my forum on CG :

Mirrors edge

I got Mirrors edge on boxing day. And though flawed in some areas it's a remarkable game in art direction play mechanics and design. I really liked it. Did a drawing on it. Last post of the year. Better work and even more posts in 2009

I started this pic a week ago and been working on it on and off for about 6 hours maybe more. been wanting to do a more refined painting for a bit now. Thanks for looking.

Sandy

Another speed painting. subject was a old show that aired here in Australia called Monkey Magic. never saw it before so I spent some time doing research this character is called Sandy. The show was base on a Chinese myth .

Perun, first 2 roughs

CGChallenge

In Slavic mythology, Perun (Cyrillic: Перун) is the highest god of the pantheon and the god of thunder and lightning.

Perun is described as a rugged man with a copper beard. He rides in a chariot pulled by a he-goat and carries a mighty axe, or sometimes a hammer. The axe is hurled at evil people and spirits and will always return to his hand.
