Art habit week Sep 21-27

Though it's tempting  attack my work in the morning, doing warmups every day helps  my productivity immensely. Taking some time before the start of my day to do these allows me to get into the zone and increase my focus. I know this but have not been good at following it.  I want to get better and colour and lighting. So with that said I'm going to post my daily warm ups every week.  Every week... Observational studies, photo and film studies.

NASA mech (Robonaut Mars)

For the Facebook group Brain storm. NASA vehicles or Mech.
Robonaut Mars edition requiring more autonomy this Robonaut can spend months on solitary recon in the uncharted lands bordering and in the Valles Marineris and it's rugged and unstable cliffs. No guns all science. Thanks to Daryl for second set of eyes. Also I went a little crazy with the lasso tool.
And a gif of the crazy up and down of the design of the mech.

Some warm ups and studies

studies of white on white (sounds worse then it is)

lighting

Learning how to light things in a painting using a base overcast painting as a starting point. Felt like my brain got bigger on this exercise.

RSF racers

till learning z brush so I modeled a race car (the wings nearly killed me) I concepted back in 2012. Then I kit-bashed it until it could not be kit-bashed no more. I used a couple of sets big thanks to the folks that made them. Adds a nice texture to the model. And made a poster and another  Nick Govacko: https://www.artstation.com/artwork/kit-bash
