From front to back

Rich inspired me with his warrior girl recently. He also showed me a pretty simple way of doing a rotation with a interesting pose, cus the T pose is so 2002.

I'll have a WIP for the next one I do promise. it's less of a trick though and more of a concept. You'll see when i put it up but it just involves taking the original drawing and flipping it as a base for the back...

hi, I'm a big fan of your work. When you do this kind of characters, what do you establish first : value or color ? I´ve seen RLyon's blog and sometimes he paint on top of value but others he lay down basic colors on top of linework and render from there. which kind of aproach do you follow ?
by the way, fantastic skills. keep it up

Hey Anonymous, I always start with a the values. I`ll always thought that good lighting makes things look better. So I establish that first. However when you want to figure out the colour it`s always good to do a little colour study of it before you start the final. hope that helps
